Leibster Award!

I'm going to open this Friday post by saying that this gif wins the Internet today.

Now without further ado, I was nominated by Natalie over at Coral Tinted Perceptions for the Liebster Award!!! I was nominated a couple of times before when I was on a mini blogging hiatus and so I'm making up for it now! I'm so very honored! Oh and ummm I'm really late on this...sorry!! Life just happened...

On with the Q&A!

1. Who's your favorite blogger and why?

Oh man this is a tough one...I'd have to say either Kathy over at Vodka and Soda because uh she's fricken hilarious and gives zero fucks and I love that about a person....OR Liz at Fitness Blondie because she continues to be such an amazing inspiration to everyone out there struggling to achieve their goals. Both amazing bloggers!!

2. What's your favorite post you've ever written? Share the link.

Hmmm I'd have to say the post where I actually had the guts to put my before (shudder) and after photos online for all of the blogosphere to see. That was rough. HOWEVER it really put things into perspective for me to see how far I've really come with my fitness goals and to never look back!

3. Kardashians: Love or Hate?

I must say that I love to hate them, yet love to watch their show because of how ridiculous they are. It's one of my guiltiest pleasures. Laughing all day long.

4. Would you be able to recognize Prince Harry or a fake knockoff on a TV show?

Ummm maybe? Lol.

5. What's your favorite book and why?

Omg Natalie, this is like asking who your favorite child is!! Hmmm...let the record show that I sat thinking about this question for about a good 10-15 minutes...but I'd have to say The Great Gatsby. I absolutely love the whole story, theme and message behind it.

6. Biggest Pet Peeve?

Hmmm I would have to say people who have a sense of entitlement like they're owed something for doing nothing. Zero time for people like that. NEXT.

7. Who do you think could be your best friend if only you two actually met?

I'd have to say Jennifer Lawrence.

8. Dream holiday destination?

Definitely France. It's my homeland and I went way back in high school without spending nearly enough time there to visit non-touristy spots. *Daydreams.

9. You can have dinner with four celebrities, who's invited?

Hmmm well if they have to be living then I'd pick Justin Timberlake so I can convince him that an NSYNC reunion needs to happen, Paul McCartney because DUH , Ryan Seacrest to pick his brain regarding everyone he's interviewed and Chelsea Handler to make me laugh for hours.

10. Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I just wanted to create a space to document the crazy happenings of my life and to serve as a creative outlet as well.

11. What's your most played song on your iPod/iPhone?

It's definitely "Hey Jude" by Sir Paul McCartney.

Stay tuned for my blog noms for The Rant Liebster Award!

Apollo is helping me out....and by helping out I mean giving me face attitude for not paying attention to him. He's been so moody ever since he's been on his diet. It happens to the best of us, little guy.

Feel free to write any Apollo captions here. Baha.

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend! I need to kick my boot-ay this weekend with my long distance runs. The weeks are dwindling by until race day! Eep!

Five Favorites from the '90s

I'm a 90's kid to the core. I came across some posts that lead me to list five favs from clearly the best era ever. Man was it hard to pick just five. Now to start off this Friday with a blast from the past....

1. NSYNC. Obviously. They were my boy band of choice. I had trouble accepting friends who had a different preference...i.e. BSB, 98 Degrees, LFO etc. NSYNC was where it was at. If you didn't like them..yeah go suck on a Little Debbie Zebra cake.

2. Beanie Babies. I kid you not, my mother would have my sister and  I call around to ALL of the Hallmark locations and toy stores within a fricken 100-mile radius to see if they got new Beanie Baby shipments in. My first Beanie Baby was the mouse that was worth thousands. Yeah remember that crap? A stuffed animal filled with beans was worth a grand or more since it was one of the "rare" ones...and what did I do to make sure that my dad didn't take it from me and sell it behind my back? I tore that tag off and shredded it to pieces. What a bastard child I was. Why on earth would anyone actually pay that much for a sack of beans? Oh yes of course...

3. Gel pens. Primarily the neon colors so teachers couldn't read fucking anything on the page. But that's okay, they solved that problem and came out with black notebook paper. Sorry teachers everywhere, hope your benefits included a comprehensive vision plan.

4. Cassette Tapes. A million of them. How else were you going to record your favorite songs off of the radio? You better hurry your ass up and get a blank cassette tape ready when the top 40 comes on.

5. Nickelodeon before it went to shit. Yes, I'm talking Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats, Doug, Salute Your Shorts, Are You Afraid of the Dark? The list goes on. Stick Stickly for the win.

Come on 90's kids, what do you miss about the '90s?? Let's hear it!

The Bride vs. The Dress Fitting

So yesterday was International Happiness Day, an emotion that completely overcame me a whole day early on Wednesday night when I had my dress fitting. You can pretty much say that I was biting my fingernails and eating light throughout the whole dang day so I wasn't bloated to the max come 7p.m. Yes, I had to have my dress fitting at the END of the day!! GAH. If you can avoid it, I highly suggest going to a dress fitting as early as possible!

Let me preface by saying that back in November when my dress came in, it was so tight I had to inhale as much as I could so the consultant could zip it up....I couldn't breathe and she had to unzip it partially halfway through the appointment so the effing zipper wouldn't break. I about died.

Granted I felt bloated to the max, but I felt like the world had just ended when she said, "oh no worries honey, we can just let it out." My face contorted in a way I never thought was possible. Has anyone else experienced a wedding meltdown? LET OUT my Enzoani gown?! NUH UH lady!

By the time my appointment came around, I wanted to run into that bridal boutique and try on my dress!! I walked in and was greeted by the woman who is in charge of my alterations. She led me to my fitting room that had my dress waiting for me...I swear there was like a white light shining down on it, it was so heavenly. It's moments like these that get me even MORE excited for the big day. I can't wait for Josh to see me in my dress. I hope to knock him off my socks. Unfortunately I can't divulge any info on the dress since he may be reading this, BUT it's absolutely perfect and fireworks go off in my head every single time I see it.

One last wave of anxiety passed through me and then I stripped down, stepped into the dress...and BOOM she zipped it up with no problem! SAY WHAT?? And I can breathe?! Pardon me while I do my flippin' happy dance and run a victory lap! Not only did it zip up, they'll have to take it IN.

When I initially went to my trainer in tears because my dress didn't fit, I told him all about my daily workouts and while I didn't realize it before, I was lifting heavy weights and bulking up. I had to lay off the heavier weights and do higher reps of lower weights. Between switching that up, getting rid of more of those yummy empty calories that come in the form of wine glasses and Starbucks cups, and making sure my water intake is where it needs to be...SUCCESS. I'll be doing these moves for the next six weeks.

Tomorrow my future mother-in-law is throwing me a bridal shower and I am SO excited. Now I get to practice not spilling stuff all over myself while in a white dress. Maybe I should wear a bib? Happy Friday!!! Can I get a Hallelujah?!
