Weekending: Hitting The Pavement

Hey guys, guess what?!

There really is nothing like a weekend to yourself to decompress. Cats, reading, getting a lot of my freelance work done and wine by the bonfire to close out the summer? Yes please! Luigi always loves our bonding time. Can't you tell?

Oh and did we all hear the news that my liquid crack in a cup is going to be available as of August 25th this year? Well played Starbucks. I've been doing so well cutting back...

Who am I kidding? I was never out. The 25th will be the only Monday I'll look forward to all year. Mark your calendars fellow pumpkin spice latte fiends. But in the meantime, I have to say, I've been on point with my runs. It helps when your new running/workout gear is a huge win too.

Fabletics redeemed themselves from the shipment mishap and delivered my new fav workout outfit. I'm shocked that they're so long on me too since I'm very leggy and capris are always a little shorter on me. WIN.

The humidity was horrid, yet I still averaged a 9-minute mile for 7 miles Saturday and Sunday. But hey, I had the help of the The Rolling Stones, Iggy Azalea, Charli XCX and JT to keep my pace on track. I'm really excited for this Chocolate Run in November. I mean come on, the medal is a fricken chocolate bar!

I also FINALLY got my new social security card with my married last name and got to go to the DMV and bank to start changing all of my account information. The most entertaining thing about that was that my banker's name was Hans. However the photo on my driver's license is pretty awesome. I don't look hungover, have three chins or have a shiny forehead. #winningatlife.

Meanwhile, has anyone been watching Shark Week? Specifically last night??? What in the hellio is UP with that submarine shark? Scarred for life. Good luck ever getting me back on a boat in the ocean. Ever. The rescue they had on film...I about peed myself.

And because it's not like I have a million other books on my shelf that I have yet to read, I finally decided to cash in my credit with Barnes Noble and downloaded the first book of the Breathless Trilogy by Maya Banks. Has anyone else read these? I've been looking for a new smut romance series to dive into.

How was everyone else's weekend?? What's your favorite book series??

  1. Oh man, I missed the submarine shark show and now I'm kinda glad I did. I'm already scared enough to get in the ocean, I don't need any other reasons to avoid it! That medal for the hot chocolate run is awesome! Glad you had a great weekend!

  5. I am obsessed with those leggings. I need them! I went on Fabletics and put a bunch of stuff in my shopping cart, but the monthly fee scares me. I could order and then cancel my subscription, right?

  6. Love the leggings! You'll have to mention if you like the series or not :) I already have a list of books "to buy/to read" but it never hurts to add more!! Happy Monday!

  8. Ok so, I love Pumpkin Spice lattes too, BUT last year I found out about the pumpkin pie lattes at Tim Hortons. If you have one nearby, seriously try it! It's absolutely amazing. Probably completely terrible for you, but a must try.

I ran the Hot Chocolate 5k before only for the chocolate I got after! haha :) It's definitely fun.

  9. If I ever get up to running a 15k I would love to do that one-- something about it pulls me in-- probably the chocolate, haha! Also, getting work done by a bonfire sounds like a pretty awesome deal- being in a comfortable/relaxing environment can make such a big difference!

  10. Those workout pants are really cute! Also, it's crazy to me that it's already time for pumpkin spice lattes to return...maybe that's because it's still in the 90's where I live now.

  11. Just added you on Goodreads...and I LOVED the first book in the series. THe other two weren't as good, but not everybody can get better as they write a series. Gosh I could list so many for you to read! Have you read anything by Christina Lauren or Gail McHugh? The Crossfire series by Sylvia Day was wonderful too. Okay I'll stop talking about books and say I also loved your leggings and have watched parts of Sharkweek for the first time in my life yesterday.

  12. Damn, I can't believe they're already bringing back PSLs so early! I'm probably the only person who doesn't like them in the entire world, aren't I?! hahaha
