Cannonball Confessions

This just might be the most important of all confessions posts so I'm going to just link up right now with Kathy and get on with it! Because the world needs to know...

I confess that I just about peed myself when I heard that 'N Sync released a new compilation album with mostly remixes and hits?!?! Christmas in July, folks! See the track list here! I also love how the record label released it and didn't tell anyone about it...including anyone in the group. I'm going to continue fan girling out like I'm not in my mid-twenties....shut up. 'N SYNC LIVES!!!

I confess that when I was little, I thought Van Halen was really singing "cannonball" over and over again when really it's "Panama"...so that's exactly how I rocked out. Thanks Dad for correcting me.....

I confess that Ann Taylor tried to swindle me out of this amazing, striped maxi dress and I was about to Hulk smash something.

I ordered it the night they started this amazing sale which made the dress around $35 and the following day I got an email stating that it sold out before they could process my order. (blood pressure rising) HOWEVER not to be outsmarted, I called the closest location to me and BOOM they had one left. What now?! Picked up that bad boy last night.

I confess that I have higher standards than my hubs when it comes to some things and house hunting is definitely one of them. He wants to save money and I would rather spend it living in a more updated place with more space. Oh and I will absolutely not compromise my neighborhood standard. Sure you can take away an extra closet or two and take away fancy aesthetics and curb appeal but it needs to be the right neighborhood.

I confess I need to be brought back down to real life after I watch those assholes on Rich Kids of Beverly Hills and then I just get even more angsty about my house hunting expectations.

I confess that I can't wait for fall. Yep, I said it. Pumpkin spice lattes, sweaters, boots err'day please! This has everything to do with my fall wardrobe being WAY better than my summer one too. Oh and because of...

I confess that I get a kick out of the dress code memos that are handed out every now and again to remind everyone that hey, you can't dress like a slutbag to work each day and stating the proper skirt/dress lengths. Who knew I wasn't supposed to wear yoga pants and flip-flops to work everyday? -_- Really? These reminder memos really just tempt me to violate the code in every way.

But really, I'll be listening to that 'N SYNC compilation all day for the next two weeks or so. You can count on it. There just might be a new memo to circulate the office about the excessive replay. Happy Hump Day, folks! Cheers!

  1. OMG FALLLLL! <33333
I can't wait to have a dress code to conform to. I'm so over this uniform and these boots and having to always wear my hair up. Although I'm going to miss people not recognizing me since they aren't used to seeing me in civilian clothes.
And the neighborhood totally makes or breaks a house. I had a friend helping me house hunt since she lives in the area and when she said the neighborhood felt sketchy I was like, kthx, nexxxxttttt.

  4. today, you and i are on point: 1) this morning on the way to work, i blasted NSync and didn't care who heard me/it.

    2) i'm wearing flip-flops today which is a no-no at work but oh well #yolo.

    3) i thought about fall as i was getting ready to leave for work. i saw my boots and thought: oh, it would be nice to slip those on with these jeans and then proceeded to think about all fall things - the crispness of the cool air, the cozy sweaters, the pumpkin pie.

like, i said - ON POINT.

    thanks for linking up!

  5. I had the EXACT same reaction when I found out about N*SYNC and commenced to telling everyone how my "tween" self was beyond ecstatic!

  6. I'm right there with you and the standards...seriously. OMG we do basically get to wear whatever we want and I've never seen a memo like that but it would make me want to rebel as well.

  7. wellll i want that CD lol. and that dress! go you for getting it, how rude of them to say it was sold out! rude!
oh yes to the house hunting standards. i had higher expectations but not only that i am smarter than my husband lol jk. he thought it would be ok to buy a house with 1 and a half baths and i was like NO. it will be harder to sell. plus I really wanted my own full bath, ok?!

  10. House hunting is HARD yo. Hubby & I had different views on houses (I am totally cool with houses that are a little older/could use some DIY and he wanted move-in ready). In the end it was the neighborhood & yard that solidified us on our house though (we have two big dogs and wanted a less crowded neighborhood). In the end, as long as you are realistic (watch anything on HGTV to see what is NOT realistic) and comfortable that's what matters. Good luck!

  11. YES to NSYNC looove them!
My bf and I are house hunting but he is so picky...I just want to quit renting but 30 years on a loan is a long time so it's probably best to be pick

  13. sweet baby jesus dress code memos are the bane of my existence. Until I see a 40(something) woman walk in with a denim mini on... then I realize why not enjoy the show?

  16. Dress code memos always make me laugh. Yes we are aware. Love that dress. I haven't gotten to completely enjoy the summer so I don't want to wish it away but Fall is my favorite too.

  17. I was so excited when I was listening to the radio this morning and they mentioned that NSYNC released a new album. I was like say whaaaaaaaa. Even more hilarious that Lance tweeted that he didn't even know about it!

I am so ready for fall. So ready!!!!

  18. You can never have too much NSYNC... never. Keep on wearing those yogas and jamming out girl!

  19. Unless you work in a face-to-face customer-centric business, I don't see the point of a dress code. My previous job was processing home insurance claims... There would be weeks where the only people we'd see would be co-workers, but we were still expected to wear "business" clothing. If I'm spending all day in a swivel chair and I'm getting all my work done, what does it matter if I'm wearing leggings and a sports bra?

  20. Totally with you regarding Fall. Definitely prefer my fall/ winter wardrobe over my summer one and I would love a caramel apple spice right now! (I think I can get this year round... however it just isn't the same when you're sweating profusely!)

  21. I absolutely love that you freely confess to peeing a little ;)

  22. Oh man Scott keeps telling me that I'm being too picky with the house hunt. Hello, i have to live there, no I'm not. I wish we had more money, but alas here we are and I'm sure we'll find something perfect eventually. Thankfully we love our apartment and still have 5 months on our lease before finding our first home. Sometimes I really wonder about people when they come to work, especially the women. umm your boobs are hanging out and that slit in your skirt is pretty much showing your ass, how does this happen???
