So last night was the Oscars and if any of you were fans of American Hustle, you're very bitter today too. Poor Leonardo DiCaprio was snubbed yet again by the Academy, although that was to be expected. Although Leo's ability to act like a drug addict was quite impressive, no Oscar for you. Try again next year. I did however feel bad for Jonah Hill, although he had no chance against Jared Leto. I knew 12 Years A Slave was going to win best picture too, although I was secretly hoping that American Hustle would. Here are my top 10 Oscar highlights that made it all worth watching.
1. Ellen DeGeneres. She should just host everything from now on.
2. Jennifer Lawrence faceplanting while stepping out of her limo
3. Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey distributing paper plates and pizza to other A-listers
4. My fiancee confusing Kim Basinger with Bette Midler's performance
5. Awright, Awright, Awright
6. People actually had noteworthy acceptance speeches, they actually apologized for having paper in front of them instead of the classic "omg I don't have a speech prepared"
7. Chris Hemsworth...because...Chris Hemsworth
8. The mass selfie that Ellen took that crashed Twitter (thank you for making my life complete)
9. Goldie Hawn showing us that you can still smile despite how many botox injections you've had
10. All of the awkward mispronunciations (i.e. John Travolta calling Idina Menzel, "Adele Dazim" close enough right?
This weekend was overall just crazy. Between working on my huge project for work, seeing Josh's sister's play and managing some other client work, I'm lucky I got more than a few hours of sleep each night! Make that a triple shot of espresso, good sir.
Josh's sister was great in her play though. She's part of a production group outside of school called Spotlight and she's really found her niche in chorus and being in theater. I give her SO much cred for going up there and doing her thing. Although it seems to feel so natural for her, I could NEVER go up on stage in front of so many people and remember all sorts of lines. Just forget it. I'm lucky if I can remember what I had for breakfast that morning. I'm sure I'll be seeing her accept her Oscar or Tony award in the future. I'm such a proud future sis-in-law.
Josh and I did have one night to ourselves though which felt amazing. There's nothing like enjoying a fancy dinner with your other half and discussing wedding plans. TWO MONTHS PEOPLE. And as if you haven't noticed already, I'll probably be including a wedding countdown in basically every other post until this event of the year actually happens. What can I say? I love the guy and I'm ridiculously excited.
Let's not forget that my dress fitting is in a couple of weeks and that wine glass pictured above HAS to be my last. No more empty cals for this one! Or at least I can try....I might be just setting myself up for failure. HOWEVER I will be eating clean and sticking to my workouts as planned...unless Brad Pitt decides to come over and serve me a slice of pizza. Then how can I decline? That would just be rude.
How was your weekend, my fabulous bloggers??? Are you as dead to the world as I am today? Hopefully not. :D

Fabulous Friday!
Oh Friday, how I've missed you so. This week flew by and I'm so excited with everything that is happening at work. My boss put me in charge of this HUGE project and I'm prepared to work my ass off over the weekend. Hard work really does pay off, which is why this amazing opportunity landed before me!
Speaking of working my ass off, I'm doing that quite literally. I've been quite satisfied with my at-home workouts when I can't hit the gym and I finally invested in more kettlebells. I highly suggest getting some if you're looking to add some small exercise equipment to your home that doesn't take up a lot of space. I absolutely love my boxing gym, but sometimes it gets really annoying. I know I'm going to sound like a huge bitch that has her panties in a twist, but a boxing gym is no place for kids. Sorry not sorry. The mommy mafia decided to appear last night for class and their kids were just unruly. Sometimes the moms are just as bad as the kids too. They choose to just laugh and talk about mommy gossip things rather than workout. If you can't pay attention and know what the flip you're doing, go to Starbucks and gossip there! If the trainer has to keep on repeating himself, that takes time out from MY workout. As far as the kid situation, I have no idea why they don't have a higher age limit since they just goof off and act really obnoxious the whole time. Keep family night at the YMCA or Lifetime where they have kid-friendly zones please....

This finally brings me to my fabulous favorites these days (that doesn't include kids flailing all over the gym).
1.) Sushi
I have a sick addiction to some delicious sushi. I can easily chow down on a plate full of these rolls. I keep on saying that I'll try my hand at making my own one day...but I don't know if I have the patience.
2.) Martinis with the girls
There's nothing like catching up with my favorite ladies over martinis (oops I swear I'm cutting down on those empty cals). If you have a stressful day, martinis make it better hands down.
3.) Running (I don't care if it's below freezing)
Eff you Old Man Winter, you're not going to get between me and my wedding dress! Yay for winter gear and wearing multiple layers so I can go for my runs. I live by the lake so it can be quite brutal (hence the Mortal Kombat-like mask). It keeps my lungs freezing up like everything else out there these days. I'm really looking forward to participating in more runs soon. I love contributing to a good cause and seeing everyone rally together for it!
4.) Smashbox ANYTHING
If you have sensitive skin like I do, you know how annoying it is to find skincare products that really work well. I recently dove into the world of Smashbox and will not look back! I went to Sephora the other day and boom, I found the best liquid foundation. Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny!
5.) My Wedding Planning Helpers
From helping me with shoe options to my furbabies keeping my wedding binder warm...I am so grateful for all of my bridesmaids and help that has come my way with wedding plans! It's been a daunting task, but now that I'm in the homestretch, I'm more so just anxious to see everything put together! The next appointments I have coming up are for dress alterations, the cake tasting and we need to get on top of ordering our wedding bands! I know he won't be picky, but my engagement ring will be harder to match since it's so unique. Everyone keeps on telling me that I won't even remember a thing and that it'll all be a blur...but I really hope it won't be! I want to remember every moment!
Everything is finally starting to fall into place after stressing out about house hunting, the wedding expenses and work. Tomorrow Josh and I will be shopping for our wedding bands so wish us luck! I'm sure I'll take a million years to decide on something. I also can't wait to see the Oscars! I'll be live tweeting the whole thing so go and follow me at ecapdevielle!
What is everyone else up to this weekend??
