My Valentine

My oh my do I have news for all the blogosphere to hear..err..read! I AM ENGAGED! After six wonderful years, I can now say that I have a fiancee and I could not be happier.

It all happened January 21. the day I ran the Polar Dash race downtown. It was freezing and snowing although I had my mom and my sister there to cheer me on and support me. I wanted Josh to come with but he declined saying that it was going to be too cold for him. I was bummed out but I understood. I ended up beating my time despite rolling my ankle on some slush, got my medal, and went to go find my mom and sister. As I was walking over to them, I saw Josh's best friend there...that of course meant that Josh was there too so I was ecstatic! I was still clueless and thought that he was just there to surprise me by showing up. Little did I know what was to come. He walked over to me, gave me a hug, and told me how much he loved me and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. It then hit me..."holy shit! This is it!!" He got down on one knee and presented me with the most gorgeous ring EVER. I managed to scream a "YES" through the tears of joy while I was jumping around in his arms.

His friend and my sister were on it too and got the best photos of this whole occurrence. The whole moment was something out of a movie and I can't believe he actually pulled off the whole surprise factor. Marriage has been the topic of conversation before and I thought that if he were to do something special it would always be in the back of my mind that "hey tonight he might propose!" Props to him for a.) totally surprising me and b.) picking out the most gorgeous ring :)

THE RING!!!

My birthday was also well-spent with my FIANCEE and the fam at Biaggi's one of my favorite restaurants. I got some awesome, new running shoes, gift cards, and some yummy cupcakes!

Although Valentine's Day just had to land on a Tuesday, I was still able to see my one and only. He wrote me a personal poem and gave me beautiful flowers and chocolates. :) I even got a nice little valentine and box of chocolates from his youngest sister as well. She's so sweet! I also got my ring back too since it needed to have it re-sized. I was going crazy without it!!
