Flirting with Fall

Hey guys heyyy!!! I'm back and I have a TON of reading and catching up to do I know. So many great and wonderful things have been happening...like FALL and margaritas the size of my head. I don't know if any of you have ever been to a Texas Roadhouse, but once it opened a little while ago close to where I live, EVERYONE flocks there. And now I know why. They have margaritas the size of your face and steak to die for.

I also officially started to pull out my Under Armour for these cold, morning runs. And guess what guys? This girl has some new kicks too. Helllloooo New Balance. To quote Rihanna, I found love in a hopeless place. Well not so much hopeless, the Internet has endless possibilities. Check out my new babies! Swoon.

I've been a Brooks girl for the longest time, but ya know what? These all terrain running shoes were just screaming my name and they just-so-happened to arrive at my door Friday night. Just in time for my long distance, weekend runs. AMAZING support and couldn't believe I was overspending all this time. I'm a New Balance girl from now on I think.

My parents also met up with my aunts and uncles this weekend to sort out some of my grandmother's things that weren't in the will. Now I really didn't expect anything, however when I was little I was always drawn to this little glass cat. Out of all of the expensive statues, Lladros and paintings her and my grandfather had collected from their world travels, I always associated that chubby little glass cat with her place. And I couldn't help but tear up when my dad made sure that I got to have that little chubby cat. The little things right? My grandmother also ALWAYS wore a classic Burberry scarf during the colder months and I was honored to inherit that as well. It's definitely replacing my own.

Other happenings this weekend included my niece's homecoming from the hospital! Lily made her debut on September 11th and she's happy, healthy and has a full head of hair! And of course the second I held her, my mother-in-law couldn't help but pointing out that I was a "natural." I never really understood this expression other than to mean that Josh and I need to work on giving her even more grandkids. SIGH. She's relentless.

We celebrated by going to the best Hibachi grill restaurant in town where we stuffed our faces full of the most amazing food. Earlier in the week, Josh also bought me The Sims 4. Man I love that guy. Hours upon hours have already been spent in build mode making the perfect house. I'll never grow out of this game. Never. Can't stop, won't stop.

Also, for those of you who haven't discovered Dunkin' Donuts' pumpkin coffee. Don't walk, RUN to your closest location and get one. It's only $2 and pretty much the most amazing thing you'll ever have without feeling like you need to spend a couple of extra hours at the gym to get rid of those extra cals. Move on over PSL....less cals AND less $$?? I think it's time we break up...at least for now...yes it's you and not me. Peace out. America and now Em runs on Dunkin.

  6. the texas roadhouse near our house gets crazy insane busy, but i have never had a margarita so i need to change that! i'm with kerry though, those rolls + the butter are so good we try to stay away!
those shoes are crazy cute - i am a brooks girl right now, had 3 pairs of asics previously, maybe i should try new balance next. i bought my brooks in 2012 so they've been worth what i paid at the time but dont think i could do it again! lol
i love that you got the cat + the burberry scarf. my nana has these really tacky crude coasters from when i was a kid and she went to throw them out and i was like you can't! they remind me of being a kid lol so i totally took them.

  10. Ohhhh I love your new shoes!!!! So fun! I have got to get some new shoes, mine are worn out and starting to hurt!

I love the cat and the scarf. I was able to have a few of the pieces that were most special to me of my grandmothers when she passed and they just mean so much to me now! It isn't the monetary value that matters so much as what makes you think about her :)

  12. I have been a Brooks girl for 3+ years, but ever since I got the newest Glycerins, I have just not been loving them. Nothing feels the same! I've been thinking about switching brands for a while... you might have me convinced! And cheaper, too?? Can't beat that!

  13. Congrats on the niece, so dang cute! Impressive that the Burberry scarf looks just like the ones today - you weren't kidding when you said 'classic'.

I am a little jealous that you have a change of season because we don't really have changing seasons in AZ. I hung out by the pool for a little while on Sunday so I guess that is one perk - I can still work on a tan just before Halloween costumes.

    Love the shoes!

So sweet that you got some things to remember your grandmother by!

    Your niece is precious!!

I got some coupons in the mail for the pumpkin DD coffee and was really excited to try it, now I know I definitely need to get some! I'm all about less calories and less money!

  19. Your neice is so sweet - congratulations! Also, I know what you mean about that glass cat. My my grandmother passed away I picked out the same sort of things - just stuff that I associated with her and my grandpa and their house. I love having that stuff in my home now. It's just a sweet little reminder every day. Hope you are doing ok!

  20. I love your new shoes! I have worn Brooks for a while now and I am thinking about making the switch to something a little less expensive. Your niece is so precious. So jealous of your new Sims, I could spend hours playing that. I wonder how my IT department would feel if I put it on my work computer...:)

  21. ohhhh man! cheers to new running shoes. i have always been an asics girl but maybe i need to branch out

  22. Hell yeah SIMS! I haven't seen Sims4, but I still play the 3rd one every now and then. I even refer to sex as "woo-hoo" sometimes and it makes me sad when people don't get it.

My next pair of running shoes is going to be Brooks. I had Under Armor for my training shoes and I picked up a pair of SUPER cushy Reeboks that I wore for my race last weekend since my Under Armor ones just didn't have the cushion they used to. We were made to buy New Balance in bootcamp and since then, they've been my least favorite and least comfortable shoe I've worn.
