Tall Girl Problems

Ya know what? Eff being tall. I live in a world full of cute, spring dresses with a long legs problem. Every damn cute dress I find ends up making me look like a whore-io. Not fair. Totally not fair. I found the cutest dang dress at the mall today and guess what? Too short. If I bent over, I'm sure I'd be flashing my hoo-haa to the world and I'm sure my future in-laws wouldn't appreciate that at my bridal shower.

I also have to avoid wearing high heels at the wedding since I have a weird thing against being too much taller than Josh. I don't really mind though since I definitely plan on dancing the whole night and high heels would just result with my feet being numb a couple hours in. This girl planned has been waiting for this moment for 8 damn years and I will be shakin' it all night.

I did find the best high/low blazer for work or dressy/casual occasions, a soft pink blouse and a statement necklace that could also double as a weapon if I need to defend myself. Those other journalists just get in my damn way too much. Let me get my quote people!!! I kid, I kid. Thanks Express and H&M.

I also picked up my copy of Chelsea Handler's latest book, Uganda Be Kidding Me. She's one of my snarky idols in life. She doesn't give an eff what anyone thinks. If you ever have a chance to see her live, DO IT. She's hilarious.

She's most popular for her show, Chelsea Lately on E! of course, but omg, she has the filthiest mouth when she's not censored on TV and it's just awesome. I envy her for just giving zero fucks. Anything goes with this woman. Zero limits. I secretly would love to just have zero morals and ambitions for a day...oh wait that's me four glasses of wine later. Nevermind, carry on. While I waited for some of my coworkers to arrive for a meeting, I decided to read a little over a glass of wine at Petterino's. Oh and do so with caution, I almost spit my wine out of my mouth several times because I was laughing so hard.

Friday night was really my only night to relax with Josh and the kitties. We decided to watch a marathon of Ghost Adventures (because that's an awesome idea leading right up to bedtime). Apollo loves to hog a whole side of the couch. His ballet-type stance isn't fooling anyone. He just doesn't know how to share.

Luigi is more of the lap hog. He will climb all over you until he finds just the right spot. This takes about 40-45 minutes.

And now we're back to starting a brand new week and we're at 53 days for the wedding countdown folks.  And I must state that as of right now, it's going to be 53 degrees in Chicago my lovely bloggers and this girl is fricken EXCITED.  I see the light at the end of this frozen, winter tunnel and it smells of spring!

  1. My family is in southern Illinois & they're so excited with the temperature warm up! I understand the tall girl problems as well. I'm 5'9 & love heels but have to be very careful in all my outfit choices.

  2. How tall are you? I have the same problem sometimes, but I'm only 5'6"! Your white kitty is so cute just lounging in that pic! Glad you had a great weekend!

  3. I think I would snort wine out of my nose if I saw Chelsea live. I love her attitude and snark. Flashing you bits to the in laws is probably not the impression your were going for right?! Haha! I have the same problem but not as tall. Apollo is just to precious!

  7. So sad that the first dress didn't fit! Too true though, you gotta keep those in-laws happy and avoid any hoo-ha flashing at all costs haha. I'm sure you'll find something beautiful.

  8. Your kitties are sooo cute!

I think that dress looks great on you and I don't think it's too short! The rule I always have is if it goes past your finger tips when your arms are stretched out at your sides, you're good to go.

The good news is, being tall means you can rock a maxi dress!

  9. You kittens are to die for!! So stickin adorable. Have you started reading the book? I love chelsea. I have gone to her show a few times up in LA and she is so funny!! I am the exact opposite. Most dresses are too long on me and look weird.

    Happy Monday!

  10. I'm the opposite...most of my pants if not petite or "ankle" length are way to freaking long and dresses that are supposed to hit higher are almost full length on this girl.

  11. i'm not even very tall (5'6") and it's nearly impossible for me to find pants that are long enough. it's crazy that most stores don't offer talls! but everywhere has petite instead.

  13. I do not relate on the tall girl problems, but I'm really short and have my own challenges on the opposite end of the height spectrum. Also, Chelsea Handler is hilarious, and I need to buy that book ASAP!

  17. I'm 5'6" but leggy.. I just picked up a bridesmaid dress for a wedding in June that's going to require spandex shorties underneath to avoid flashing all 200 of my friend's nearest and dearest.

  18. I am 5'3 and it basically sucks. haha I would love to be taller. My husband towers over me and he puts everything away in the kitchen and I can never find it and when I do...it usually requires a step ladder. yea, we legit have a step ladder in our kitchen and in our bedroom closet. haha
